 This morning the flower beds looked like this.  then by the afternoon

 after every tulip was pulled out by the crew

 it looked like this with all the new flowers planted,  will be beautiful soon

                                   Moving dirt at the Carthage Jail.  they built a new roof over
                                   the visitor's center and tore up the grass.  we'll be planting new
                                      grass soon

The Burning



This is Prairie grass as the saints had to go through.
probably lots of little and not so little creatures in it!



They do a mock burning of the grass every year to show what the
saints had to deal with

nice!  it was a very cold windy day until they lit the fire

this was an acre of grass. it took about 4 min to burn it all and
it rained that morning. usually on a dry day would take only
2 min to burn it!!
